“TOLUU!!!”(in a Nigerian Mother’s voice), and of course, that was my mom calling me and no, I didn’t do anything wrong. She just wanted me to draft a list(oh no, not market list). Yesyes, it was about to be 8th edition of World Toluene’s Day and she asked me to the write out the names of my classmates & teachers that I wanted to give a party pack, so she could plan a proper celebration. I gladly tore out a sheet from my jotter, picked a pen, and wrote it. Now to my favorite part, she asked me to list out things I’d like to give my friends. I wrote out: Bobooo, Cheesball(I feel like taking bobo &cheeseball frr), Ribbena, Lolliipop, Milk candy, Big cakee, Caprisonee, Parle-G(my best biscuit then) and many moreee…(but she still scrapped out some😭).

Yes, the day of most anticipated celebration came. I stepped out with my 100% steeze, oh yes, people were staring(primary school thingss), my mom assisted me in taking my party packs to the class(I mean,birthday girl can’t be stressing). Later in the day, the photographer came and took my classmates and I cute pictures. Now that I remember, its feel even more sweet.

Nice right? but something still confuses me…

The 11th edition was approaching and my mom seemed not to be making any plans(no list no party pack). I thought they wanted to surprise me but up till that morning, no show. I went to school with mixed emotions but to my surprise, my friends were the one who ushered me in with giftsss. Although, some of my classmates were asking me for birthday packages. In their voice “Tolu, where is our birthday package????’’
